Student Registration Information

Welcome to the Jim Thorpe Area School District. This site will provide you with the information you need to register your child in our district. Please review the Registration Requirements page for a list of documents required for student registration.  Please use the Online Registration system to submit your application, then call to make an appointment. No appointment for registration will be made unless the electronic application is made. Once all documentation is has been submitted, please call for an appointment at 570- 325-3691. Please bring all necessary documentation.

2017-18 School Year: For students registering for the 2017-18 school year, including new kindergarten students, please go to the 2017-18 JTASD Online Registration site.

2016-17 School Year: For students registering for the current 2016-17 school year, go to the 2016-17 JTASD Online Registration site.

Once at the correct site, follow the directions below.

  • Create an account if you have not yet done so for online registration
  • Complete the online registration process, completing all required information
  • Should you be unable to complete the registration in one sitting you may save your work and log back in to continue where you left off.
  • If you have more than one child to register, you will be able to start a registration for them once you submit the information for the first student.  All pertinent information you provided for the first student will snap in to any other of your childrens' registration.
  • If you have any questions during the application process and need assistance, save your work and log out. Contact the District Registrar at 570-325-3691 ext 3908 for an appointment. At the appointment, the registrar will assist you in completion of the application.
  • After submission of your information, you will be provided with information for contacting the school district to complete the registration process and well as an email confirming successful completion of the information. You will be asked to contact the district registrar.
  •  To contact the District Registrar for an appointment, call 570-325-3691 ext 3908.
  • When calling for an appointment, please have the following documentation:
  • Proof of Student's Age (Birth Certificate, etc.)

    • Immunization records
    • Proof of Residency
    • 1302 or 1305 documentation (if applicable)





Enrollment Requirements


Age requirements:
  • Kindergarten- The student must be five (5) years old by September 1st.
  • First Grade - The student must be six ( 6) years old by September 1st.
The following are the required documentation necessary for student registration:
  • *Proof of Student's Age: Any one of the following constitutes acceptable documentation:
    Birth certificate; notarized copy ofbirth certificate; baptismal certificate; copy of the record of baptism- notarized or duly certified and showing the date of birth; notarized statement from the parents or another relative indicating the date of birth; a valid passport; a prior school record indicating the date of birth.

  • *Immunization Records:Acceptable documentation includes: either the child's immunization record, a written statement from the former school or from a medical office that the required immunizations have been administered, or that a required series are in progress, or verbal affirmation from the former school district or medical office that the required immunizations have been completed, with records to follow.

  • *Proof of Residency: includes the following acceptable documentation: A deed, a lease, current utility bill, current credit card bill, property tax bill, vehicle registration,driver's license, DOT identification card. A district may require that more than one form of residency confmnation be provided. Jim Thorpe School district requests two (2) proofs of residency.

  • *Home Language Survey:All students seeking first time enrollment in a school shall be given a home language survey in accordance with the requirements of the U.S. Department of Education's Office for Civil Rights. Enrollment of the student may NOT be delayed in order to administer the home language survey.

  • *Act 26 (1995} Affidavit with Current address within district limits: A sworn statement to affirm or deny that a student has been Suspended or ExpelJed for violentbehavior or a drug policy violation.
