Good evening! JTASD will be conducting the state mandated bus evacuation drills tomorrow morning. This may make some buses late to their elementary stops as the high school buses will be doing their drills before going back out. We ask that you please be patient with us as we continue to work toward making sure our buses make it to their stops on time and safely. Thank you!

As was advertised in the newspaper, the Jim Thorpe Area School District's Board of Education meeting scheduled for tonight, August 21, 2024, has been moved up to a 6:00 PM start. Please note the start time change to 6:00 PM from the normal 7:00 PM start.

CHIP covers uninsured children and teens up to age 19 – and no family earns too much to qualify. With nearly 128,000 uninsured children in Pennsylvania, this is great news for families!
CHIP provides quality, comprehensive health insurance for routine doctor’s visits, prescriptions, dental, eye care, eyeglasses, mental health, and much more. CHIP covers uninsured kids who are not eligible for Medical Assistance. For many families, CHIP is free – for others, it is low-cost.

JT Youth Basketball Summer Skills for students entering Grades 3rd-6th in the fall.


Due to the lack of students signing up for summer school this year, the Penn Kidder Campus will be cancelling summer school for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade. Seventh and eighth students in need of summer school can still sign up online with eBridge Academy or Keystone Credit Recovery. If you need any further information, please call the main office at (570) 722-1150.

The Facility Use Guidelines and Fee Structure were updated by the JTASD Board of Education on June 24, 2024. For any groups requesting to use our facilities, please see the Facilities Request link on the JTASD website for the updated information.

As was advertised, the Jim Thorpe Area Board of Education will conduct their June Committee Meeting at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, June 19, and their June voting meeting at 7:00 PM on Monday, June 24. Both meetings will be held at the high school.

PENN KIDDER CAMPUS PRINCIPAL HOLLY MORDAUNT HAS ANNOUNCED THE NAMES OF STUDENTS ON THE PRINCIPAL’S LIST AND HONOR ROLL FOR THE FOURTH MARKING PERIOD OF THE 2023-2024 SCHOOL YEAR.



Are you interested in becoming a bus or van driver for the Jim Thorpe Area School District? On June 19 and 20, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the high school library, our bus contractor will be available to answer questions, fill out on-site paperwork, and provide applications for those that cannot stay to complete the paperwork.
